Well well well. Look what the cat dragged in. Yes kids, it's a blast from duh past, you're ever-loving, ever-blasting, Marco Polo, aka, "the guy who kinda disappeared for no unbeknownst reason". Oy. Well, I am grateful to have been granted rights to post on mY FAVORITE PUNK ROCK f**kING BAND website. Hey, it hasn't been exactly a walk in the park for yours truly for about... ummmmm... two f**king years! But what the hey!?
I'd love to play a little game of ketchup with ya'll, but as things go, I have an even better story which sidetracks the story I wanted to tell ya'll. Let there be no doubt (and really, I'm very glad we don't have to deal with No Doubt anymore) that C.S. and company .... well .... I hit my heart for ya's.
Last night I sat at a local downtoen dive, sipping on some suds and basically just spacing out. There was a couple sitting next to me - a guy and a gurl. I was eavesdropping on they conversation.
It takes a while to make a connection with people when you live on the "outskirts of town", so to speak. I listened. Then I jumped in. And, as always my dear friends, when I "jump in", sumpin' gonna happen. Testament!!!
Me - "Oy. So you're playing at The Blowout, eh? Well, good luck finding a parking space! Oh, and you're in WHAT band? Ok. And you are in WHAT band? Oy, I see. Oh. Well, good. Good for you. Good luck. Yes, there's nothing wrong wit playing covers. Oh, yes, you remind me of Broadzilla! Ha ha h a ha ha!!! No, but seriously kids, it's a lot of f**king hard work, ya know? Good luck. What? Me? Well... heh heh heh. Ummmmm... well... I was drummer for Choking Susan and for...."
Attention grabbing - "What!?? You played for Choking Susan!? I saw them at The Token! I love C.S!"
Me - "Oy... well, yeah. And I tell ya what... THAT is true f**king rock."
Somewhat depressed at the overtures of my life over the years, yet somehow relishing in the fact that, yes, I can smirk and know that I played with heroes....
I donned my winter jacket, and without saying any goodbyes, slipped out the back door into the cold wintery night.
You have fans out there.
But what I really wanted to write about was this really crappy B movie I seen last weekend. Ah well. I'm just a gone ashtray! ;D
